About this trip

A Transgenerational Healing Immersion Integrating Ancestral Constellations and African Ancestral Healing - 10 day (9 night) Retreat Johannesburg 8th - 17th November 2024

A personal healing retreat

Exploring the African Ancestral Healing and its relationship to Ancestral Constellations practice. It is an opportunity for Diaspora women of colour to learn more about the deep roots of the ancestral healing.

You will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa to attend the Ancestral Call Retreat. You will participate in learning circles and ancestral gatherings to learn more about African traditional healing and your journey on the ancestral path.

Aims and purpose

The Ancestral Call retreat focuses on Remembering, Reconnecting, Recovering and Reclaiming healing traditions, cultural knowledge and ancestral learning. It is a deep dive into ‘other ways of knowing’ to interrupt and sooth, repeating generational family patterns that impact the current family system.

It is a retreat that brings women who are answering an ancestral call to help heal their ancestral family line! The call asks us to become the family wisdom keepers and Griottes learning new ways of supporting our lineage, past, present and future.

The Retreat Details

We have curated the retreat as a personal development and ancestral learning opportunity. We will meet at the retreat daily between 9 am and will finish the day by 6 pm unless otherwise specified in the programme.  There will be a schedule of activities taking place on most days with some free time for relaxation and reflection.

The Personal Element of the retreat will be through personal constellations and 1:1 Transgenerational consultations with a senior African traditional healer and Sangoma.

The schedule will include.....

There will be several excursions throughout the week to deepen learning about the social and cultural context for traditional healing in an African context.

Venue and Accommodation

Venue

The Retreat venue is a beautiful retreat space in a quiet location, not far from Rosebank Mall where there are shops, cafes and restaurants. The house is set within its grounds with lovely gardens and a swimming pool. Please note that currently, South Africa has a load shedding programme which means that the electricity may be off for a period. The house has a backup generator for electrical items should this occur during the day.

Accommodation

There are 2 double bedrooms in the main house and 2x2 bedroom apartments in a modern apartment block, just a 1-minute walk from Rosebank Mall.  Each of the apartments has 2 double bedrooms, and you will be sharing with one other retreat participant. The apartments are a short drive away from the venue

Location

Johannesburg is a vibrant city and the retreat venue is located within a multicultural and international community environment. It is a safe location but we are in a city and so we advocate personal safety and awareness at all times. Uber is a good and safe option for travel, even short hops are very cost-effective.

Food & Dining Options

Meals During the Retreat

During the retreat a continental breakfast will be offered and a light lunch with a variety of salads, and cold meats. Snacks will be available during the day. In the evenings dinner will only be provided on the days specified in the schedule. Outside of this, you will be free to explore the many different options in the South African culinary scene.

Dining Options

If you are staying near Rosebank Mall there are plenty of shopping and restaurant options.  There are also cafes and bars within walking distance of the main house.
